X Engineering, LLC (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”)
1. Introduction
This privacy policy describes how our mobile application (the “App”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses information about you. By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
This policy applies only to the App and associated cloud features. It does not apply to our website or other services unless specifically stated.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Account Information (User-Provided)
When you register your account to enable cloud features, we collect:
- Username
- Email address
- Vessel information that you choose to provide
This information is submitted directly by you during registration.
2.2. Device Identifiers (Automatically Collected)
When registration occurs, we automatically collect:
- Device hardware ID
This is used as the primary identifier for your device within our systems.
2.3. Telemetry and Sensor Data (Automatically Collected When Registered)
If you enable cloud features, the App collects and uploads telemetry data, which may include:
- GPS position, speed, and movement data
- NMEA2000 sensor data
- Battery voltage, current, temperature, and status
- Alternator data
- Engine data
- Other onboard sensor readings supported by your device
This data is collected to provide performance analytics, trip statistics, fleet-level comparisons, and other features described in Section 3.
You may disable cloud features at any time by selecting “Delete All Data”, which immediately stops future uploads and permanently deletes previously uploaded data.
2.4. Correspondence
If you contact us, we may maintain records of your communications.
2.5. No Collection of Sensitive Categories
We do not collect:
- Government identifiers
- Biometric data
- Health records
- Financial account numbers
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide cloud synchronization, history tracking, and remote access to telemetry data
- To provide trip statistics, vessel performance analytics, fleet averages, and similar calculated data
- To generate vessel polar diagrams, true wind calculations, and related performance metrics
- To provide aggregated leaderboards and rankings
- To present data visualizations, dashboards, and reports
- To provide account management and device linking
- To perform analytics to improve system performance and reliability
- To enforce terms of service
- To respond to support requests
3.1. Leaderboards and Public Statistics
The App may publish aggregated, anonymized, or leaderboard data (e.g., fastest speed, highest wind gust, etc.).
Leaderboard entries will identify users only by username, which does not need to be personally identifiable.
4. Data Storage and Retention
4.1. Storage
All uploaded data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, a third-party cloud hosting provider.
4.2. Retention
We retain uploaded information indefinitely, unless deleted by you as described in Section 5.
5. User Controls
5.1. Delete All Data
You may stop data upload and permanently delete all information associated with your account at any time by selecting the “Delete All Data” button in the App.
This one-click function:
- Deletes your account
- Deletes your personal data
- Deletes associated telemetry data
- Unregisters your device
- Prevents future uploads
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
We do not offer partial or selective deletion.
6. Sharing of Information
6.1. Current Practices
We do not currently sell or rent personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing.
We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers (including Supabase) who store or process data on our behalf
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful requests
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, users, or others
We may publish aggregated, anonymized, and leaderboard data as described in Section 3.1.
We do not sell personal information at this time. We reserve the right to do so in the future, subject to applicable law and with prior update to this policy.
7. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data during transmission and storage.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

9. International Users
Data may be stored or processed in jurisdictions other than your own.
By using the App, you consent to such transfer.
10. Advertising and Tracking
The App does not use advertising identifiers and does not track users for advertising purposes.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time.
We will notify users of material changes to data practices through an in-App notice, update prompt, or email.
