Account and Data Deletion

App: X Regulator  ·  Developer: X Engineering, LLC  ·  Last updated September 2026

The X Regulator app works without an account. A cloud account is optional, and it is what enables leaderboards, fleet statistics, config sharing, and long-term history stored off the device. This page explains how to delete that account and the data attached to it, either from inside the app or by email.

You do not need an account, a login, or the app to make a deletion request. Email joe@xengineering.net and we will do it for you.

Route 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

This is immediate and needs no request. The app must be connected to your regulator over the local network, because the regulator holds the credential that authorizes the deletion.

  1. Open the app and connect to your regulator.
  2. Press Unlock Settings at the top of the page.
  3. Open the Cloud Features tab. On a narrow phone screen this tab is labeled Cloud.
  4. Select the Registration sub-tab.
  5. Scroll to Account Management and press Delete My Account.
  6. Confirm the warning, then type DELETE when prompted.

The account and its cloud data are removed at once. The app confirms and reloads with cloud features reset. Your regulator keeps running and charging normally; only the cloud side is affected. The deletion cannot be undone.

Route 2 — Ask us by email

Use this if you no longer have the device, cannot reach it, or simply prefer that we do it.

We verify identity before acting on a request, and we do not charge for it.

What is deleted

Both routes run the same deletion, and it removes the account and everything in our cloud that is tied to it:

What is kept, and why

How long it takes

Deletion from inside the app is immediate. An emailed request is acted on without undue delay and in any case within 30 days of us verifying who you are, matching Section 10 of the privacy policy. If a request is unusually complex we will tell you and say why before extending.

Deletion is one of several rights covered by our privacy policy — see Section 10, Your Privacy Rights for access, correction, portability, and the rest, and Section 7 for retention.
