The docs say I need a shunt. I don't have one because I have batteries with built in BMS that shows me what I need to see. I also use my lithium as my starting battery and given that the shunt is only rated for 500A, this isn't sufficient for starting the engine, so it would be bypassed and not work.
What is the impact of not using a shunt?
